Chris Martin

Chris Martin

One of the most interesting facets of Chris Martin is how he has turned a personal health challenge into a mission to make his concerts the most inclusive in the world.

The vocalist who "feels" music with the deaf community.

Chris Martin has suffered from tinnitus (a constant ringing in the ears) for over a decade, due to exposure to loud music without protection in his early days. This condition made him much more aware of the value of hearing and accessibility.

For this reason, on his current tours, Chris has promoted incredible measures for fans with hearing impairments:

SubPac Vests: These are vibrating backpacks that allow deaf people to "feel" low frequencies and the beat of the drums in their own bodies.

Sign Language Interpreters: In every country they visit, Chris insists on having local interpreters on stage. He has even learned parts of songs in sign language to perform them during the show (as he did with "Something Just Like This").

Extra Facts: He is ambidextrous: he writes with his left hand but draws with his right.

He almost burned down his kitchen: He has admitted in interviews that he is a terrible cook and almost burned his house down the only two times he tried to cook something complex.
